Well, CA said they won't be making any "III's" in the near future, so don't hold your breath. CA has shown no regard or inclination to go back in time, and especially with the fallout over Rome II, do you really think they want to invite more criticism for remaking a well loved expansion? I doubt that CA will revisit the post-Imperial time again, but rather most likely focus on either Caesar's take-over, or a Peloponnesian War expansion. Neither of Shogun II's campaign expansions took place in that period. Shogun I's expansion was the Mongol Invasion. The closest you came to was the Teutonic Campaign, but that was Crusades Era. Medieval II's expansion was set in 4 different time periods, but nothing to do with Vikings. Medieval I's expansion was Viking Invasion and was set in the 800's. Yes, I would love to see what they could do with a Barbarian Invasion II given all of the advances that have been made in the total war series since then.

I thought BI was the most challenging of all the total war games/expansions (at least as Western Rome). Original Bi was to Easy for Western rome. I do think starting Point should be 405 bc though. Research could be Simulate to make rome worse to Simulate decay(until a certain Point)īarbarians and nomads are neither OP nor pushovers like in BI.
